Course Description
This course has been developed in response to popular demand from locally based organisations that require technical computing support. The course is designed to equip students with the knowledge, understanding and hands-on experience required to take up work as computer and network maintenance personnel and/or to allow for progression to an undergraduate degree in network management.

This course will give students a firm foundation in the skills required for employment in the IT sector. There is a growing demand for qualified personnel who can build a personal computer (PC), troubleshoot PC hardware and software problems, and build and maintain a peer-to-peer local area network.
Progression Opportunities
At Cavan Institute: Graduates of this course may progress to a level 6 course at Cavan Institute to qualify with a FETAC/QQI Level 6 Certificate in Computer Systems and Networks or Software Development.
