Entry Requirements
Leaving Certificate or Leaving Certificate Applied or LCVP or FETAC/QQI Level 4 Award. Equal consideration will be given to mature applicants (those aged over 23) who do not meet these entry requirements.

Course Description
This course has been developed in response to popular demand from locally based organisations that require technical computing support. The course is designed to equip students with the knowledge, understanding and hands-on experience required to take up work as computer and network maintenance personnel and/or to allow for progression to an undergraduate degree in network management.

Career Opportunities
This course will give students a firm foundation in the skills required for employment in the IT sector. Progression Opportunities
At Cavan Institute: Graduates of this course may progress to a level 6 course at Cavan Institute to qualify with a FETAC/QQI Level 6 Certificate in Computer Systems and Networks or Software Development.
Elsewhere: Graduates are also eligible to apply through the CAO and/or the Higher Education Links Scheme for entry to year one of a range of higher certificate and degree programmes at Institutes of Technology and Universities (please check with the particular institution regarding local eligibility requirements).
